To receive the benefit, you must apply to any regional center of the Unified Social Service (use the browser's translation tool to view the English version) and submit the required documents.

Requirements

Childcare allowance for children under 2 years of age can be received:

• If you are on childcare leave for children under 3 years of age and apply for the allowance before the child turns 2 years of age
• If you are registered in a rural area and have lived at that address for at least 1 year in a row as of the date of applying for the allowance

An additional requirement for foreign citizens is to be registered at the address of residence in the Republic of Armenia for at least 3 consecutive years as of the child's birth date.

Required documents

To receive the benefit, you must submit the following documents:

• Application
• Passport or ID card
• Public services number (PSN) - social security card number (not required if you have an ID card)
• Child's birth certificate, social security number or a certificate of non-receipt of a social security number.

If the guardian is going to physically receive the first month's benefit, it is also necessary to submit:

• A document on guardianship
• A power of attorney issued by the parent to pay the care allowance in cash to the applicant. The power of attorney must be notarized.

Support amount

If the child was born before January 1, 2023, the benefit is:

• 31,600 AMD if the applicant is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

• 31,600 AMD if the applicant lives in a village and does not work

• 63,200 AMD if the applicant lives in a village and is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

If the child was born after January 1, 2023, the benefit is:

• 37,500 AMD if the applicant is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

• 31,600 AMD if the applicant is not on leave to care for a child under 2 years old

• 69,100 AMD if the applicant lives in a village and is on leave to care for a child under 2 years old
