Receive disability benefits
Disability benefits are provided to individuals with disabilities who are not eligible for a labor pension, as well as to children with disabilities.
To receive disability benefits, an application must be submitted to the Territorial Center of the Unified Social Service (USC).
Requirements
Disability benefits are granted if the application is submitted within 3 months after the date of the medical-social assessment.
Required documents
To apply for disability benefits, you need to submit the following documents to the Territorial Center of the Unified Social Service:
- an application,
- your ID card or passport
- your social security card (also public services number (PSN), not required if you have an ID card) or a certificate confirming that you don't have a public services number (PSN),
- an extract of the medical-social assessment results issued by the medical institution,
- for foreign citizens and stateless perons: document conforming residency status in Armenia,
- for refugees: a Convention travel document.
Disability benefit amount
Depending on the disability category (degree of functional limitation), the benefit amount can vary:
- 39,000 AMD per month for individuals with severe functional limitations (equivalent to 1st-degree disability),
- 37,500 AMD per month for individuals with significant functional limitations (2nd-degree disability),
- 36,000 AMD per month for individuals with moderate functional limitations (3rd-degree disability).
Delivery period and procedure
- The application is reviewed by a social service employee.
- The applicant will be notified about the approval or rejection of the benefit within 10 working days.
