Request information from state bodies
Every person has the right to receive information and become familiar with documents concerning the activities of state and local government bodies and officials.
Information can be obtained either verbally or through a written request.
Follow these steps after clicking the "Continue" button.
To obtain information from state bodies, you need to:
- register on the e-request platform and log in by entering your email address and password,
- click the "Send" button under the “Send application, request, or complaint” option,
- on the next page, select the “Request” option,
- select the type of applicant: "Individual," or "Legal person" if applying on behalf of an organization,
- on the next page, select the state body to which the request is addressed,
- enter the request, clearly formulating the information needed,
- if required, click "Attach file" to upload documents; if not, click "Next."
You can track the status of the request using the tracking number available in your personal account.
Required data
To receive information, the details of your passport or identification card are needed.
Delivery period and procedure
- If the requested information is not already published, a copy will be provided within 5 working days after receiving the request.
- If the requested information is publicly available, the applicant will be informed within 5 working days about when and where the information was published.
- If additional work is needed to provide the requested information, it will be provided within 30 working days after receiving the request. The applicant will be notified about the reason of the delay and the final deadline within 5 working days via email.
The request will not be answered if:
- the applicant’s identification data is found to be false,
- the same person submits a second request for the same information within a 6-month period.
Attention:
- Applicants are not required to justify their requests.
- A refusal to provide information can be appealed at the respective government body, in court, or at the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
Payment amount and procedure
Provision of information is free of charge in the following cases:
- responding to verbal requests,
- providing up to 10 printed or copied pages,
- providing information via email,
- responding to written requests concerning information whose publication may prevent threats to state or public security, public order, public health or morals, the rights and freedoms of others, the environment, or someone's property,
- when refusing to provide information,
- when a body or organization that previously provided inaccurate or incomplete information provides corrected information at the request of the person who received it.
In some cases, a fee may be required for providing information. In those cases, the payment amount is determined by the relevant body.
